Green Harbor Construction & Consultant Ltd has announced a comprehensive sustainability initiative that will be implemented across all new projects commencing from January 2025.
The initiative, titled "Build Green Bangladesh," encompasses several key pillars:
**Solar Energy Integration**
All commercial buildings above 8 storeys will be required to include rooftop solar panel installations capable of supplying at least 10% of the building's energy consumption.
**Rainwater Harvesting**
Residential complexes will incorporate rooftop rainwater collection and filtration systems for use in irrigation and toilet flushing, reducing municipal water consumption by up to 30%.
**Certified Sustainable Materials**
We will prioritize materials with environmental certifications, including low-VOC paints, FSC-certified timber, and locally-sourced aggregates to reduce transportation emissions.
**Construction Waste Management**
A structured waste segregation and recycling program will be implemented on all sites, targeting a 50% reduction in construction waste sent to landfill.
**Energy-Efficient Design**
Buildings will be oriented and designed to maximize natural ventilation and daylight penetration, reducing reliance on mechanical cooling and artificial lighting.
Green Harbor believes that the construction sector has a critical role to play in Bangladesh's sustainable development goals, and we are proud to lead by example.
